It's been in works for some time now and we are finally ready to show it off. As only a few of you may know, Baxter of California produced a cologne back in the early 1970's called BRAVADO, but the fragrance was sold out by the time the company was taken over in 2001.
With Bravado being "retired", and the original scent being "dated", we decided to bring Bravado back with 2 new scents that are designed for the modern man, appropriately naming the new fragrances as an homage to the original cologne.
BRAVADO 2, fragrance Notes:
Top Note: Citrus
Middle Note: Light Floral
Dry Down: Soft Vanilla Musk, Slight Citrus
Slight Notes: Natural Lemon Oil Peel, Basil, Cypress, Mandarin
BRAVADO 3, fragrance Notes:
Top Note: Mandarin Citrus
Middle Note: White Floral Lavender
Dry Down: Musk Woody
Slight Notes: Bergamot, Nutmeg, Lavender
We like to say that both scents fringe on unisex, and while both have citrus top notes, they are complimentary but clearly different.
The packaging and bottle for the project was designed by Marc Atlan (an art director with fragrance packaging credits including Comme des Garcons, Helmut Lang, Yves Saint Laurent and the Baxter "Flammable" candle series).
Photographer Albert Giordan was selected to capture the Bravado imagery. Giordan’s work has appeared in French Vogue, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, and Big Magazine. He has shot campaigns for brands including Cartier, Rolex, and Comme des Garcons.
Both Bravado 2 and Bravado 3 will be launched exclusively at Barneys New York in mid April. Retail $80/100ml. For more information on Bravado 2 and Bravado 3, please visit www.bravadoedc.com.
UPDATE: many people emailed me when this went up asking about the O.G Bravado:
FINALLY!
Congrats.
